2007 SUCCESS!
It has been a great year for asymetrics at castle cove...and the end of season reports demonstrate how our racing turnout has remained good...see the end of season report on the club website...thankyou Pete for putting that together.
It has also been a good season on the road, with castle cove sailors participating in events around the country. We have seen the rapid growth of the Laser 2000 at the club, which is exciting to see and clearly demonstrates how fleets will emerge within the 'asymmetric bracket.' I think it also became clear this season that there seems to be a range of faster asymmetrics whose handicaps are close enough to provide competitive racing, i.e the Musto, 800, Int Canoe and Int 14....
Next season looks to be even better with the musto/2000 open at ccsc in September which i recommend and hope everyone will try and borrow a boat for....worth trying sail laser or the laser class association for that. It is important however that we put on a good show not only for the visiting sailors but to other castle cove members...to ensure asymmetric opens will be run at the club again.
2008- It is important that we continue what we have started....by attracting more new and current members to the wonders of asymmetric sailing where one can benefit from the fruits of better racing, more time on the water...less time fiddling and generally funner/faster boats to sail.
Ohh and i will continue to try and promote this blog as a key tool...for being at uni now this is probablly the easiest way to keep in touch with whats going on in the Castle Cove world.
Hugh...
Merry christmas everyone!
